The Guggenheim Museum, also known as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, is a modern art museum located in New York City. It was founded by the American businessman and philanthropist Solomon R. Guggenheim in 1939, and is home to a collection of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and early Modernist art. The museum is housed in a distinctive cylindrical building designed by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, which is considered an architectural masterpiece in its own right.
